Introduction: We're Not Just Hosting Games Anymore
When we started Zixo Games, the goal was simple bring together a solid collection of browser games that anyone could jump into instantly, without downloads, without sign-up walls, without friction. That part hasn't changed, and it never will. But we've reached a point where we're ready to do more than just host games other people made. We're now building our own.
This isn't a small side project. It's a real shift in direction for the platform, and we wanted to walk you through exactly what's coming, what's already live but maybe flying under your radar, and what's still in the works. No vague teasers, no "stay tuned" without substance. Here's the actual breakdown.
The Big One: An Original Zombie Survival Driving Game Is in Development
Let's start with the part we're most excited about. We're currently building our first fully original game, and it's a zombie survival driving game set on an endless highway.
Here's the core idea: you're behind the wheel, the road stretches out ahead of you, and it's crawling with zombies. Your job isn't to dodge them it's to plow straight through them. Every zombie on that highway is an obstacle standing between you and survival, and your car is the only weapon you've got. Speed, timing, and a bit of aggressive driving are what's going to keep you alive.
We're still early in development, so we're not going to throw out a release date we can't promise. What we can tell you is that this game is being built specifically for Zixo Games it won't be a generic template reskinned with our branding. We're designing the highway layout, the zombie behavior, and the car-handling mechanics from the ground up, because we want this to actually feel different from the driving and action games already on the platform.
This is also just the first of several original titles we have planned. The zombie game is the one furthest along, but it's not the only thing on our roadmap more on that below.
You Can Already Play Without Logging In That's Not Changing
Before we get into the reward systems, we want to be clear about something: you do not need an account to play games on Zixo Games. You never have, and that's staying exactly the same.
We built it this way on purpose. A lot of gaming platforms put games behind a sign-up wall before you can even try them, and we think that's backwards. You should be able to click a game and start playing within seconds no email, no password, no waiting on a verification link. That instant access is core to what Zixo Games is, and it's not something we're going to compromise just to push people toward creating accounts.
That said, if you do decide to create an account, you unlock a layer of the platform that purely-anonymous play doesn't give you access to. That's what the rest of this update is about.
Already Live (But Maybe You Missed It): The Zixo Coins System
If you've logged in before, you may have already noticed a coin balance sitting somewhere on your profile. If you haven't, here's what it's about.
Zixo Coins are an in-platform currency you earn simply by playing games while logged in. There's no complicated point system to memorize the more you play, the more coins accumulate. Right now, coins are mainly used to unlock cosmetic profile customization, which we'll get into in a moment, but coins are also going to become more important soon, because they're tied directly to the tournament system we're building (more on that further down).
If you've been playing logged in without realizing coins were stacking up in the background, it might be worth checking your profile next time you log in. There's a decent chance you already have a balance waiting to be used.
Already Live: Daily Spin Wheel Rewards
Another feature that's already live and easy to miss if you're not actively looking for it is the daily spin wheel. Once you're logged in, you get access to a spin wheel that you can use once every 24 hours. Spin it, and you get a random number of Zixo Coins added to your balance.
It's a small thing, but it adds up. If you're someone who plays on Zixo Games regularly anyway, getting into the habit of spinning the wheel once a day is basically free coins for something you'd probably be doing already. The 24-hour cooldown resets exactly a day after your last spin, so it works best as a quick daily check-in rather than something you can stack up by spinning multiple times in a row.
Already Live: Avatars and Banners You Can Unlock With Coins
So what are the coins actually for right now? Profile customization. Specifically, avatars and banners.
Once you've built up a coin balance whether through regular play or daily spins you can spend those coins to unlock new avatar icons and profile banners. It's a straightforward way to make your profile feel a bit more like yours instead of sticking with the default look everyone starts with.
We know cosmetic rewards aren't going to be everyone's main motivation to log in, and that's fine. But for players who like having something to work toward, even something as simple as unlocking a new banner gives the coin system a purpose beyond just sitting as a number on your profile.
Coming Soon: Tournaments With Real Stakes
This is the feature we're most actively working on right now, alongside the zombie survival game, and it's where the coin system is about to become a lot more meaningful.
Here's the plan: tournaments will require a Zixo Coins entry fee to join. Once you're in, you're competing against other players, and performance is what matters the players who score highest or play the most within the tournament window will walk away with rewards, including additional Zixo Coins and other awards we're still finalizing the details on.
This changes the coin system from something purely cosmetic into something with actual competitive value. Instead of coins only going toward an avatar or banner, you'll be able to put them on the line for a shot at winning more back, along with recognition for being one of the top performers.
We're being intentionally careful with how we roll this out, because we want the entry costs and reward structure to feel fair, not predatory. That's part of why this is taking a bit of time to finalize rather than rushing it out half-built.
Why We're Building All of This
It would be easy to keep Zixo Games exactly as it is a solid library of games people can jump into without friction. But we think there's more room to make the platform feel like an actual community with its own identity, rather than just a directory of embedded games.
The coin system, the daily rewards, the customization options, and the upcoming tournaments are all pieces of that same goal: giving players a reason to come back regularly, not just when they happen to remember the site exists. And the original games we're starting to build, beginning with the zombie survival driving game, are about making Zixo Games a place where you can find something you genuinely can't play anywhere else.
None of this changes what already works. Games are still instant, still free, still playable without an account. We're just building more around that foundation for the players who want to stick around and get more out of it.
What to Do Right Now
If you've never logged in before, this is a good time to start. You'll get access to the coin system, the daily spin wheel, and profile customization immediately, and you'll be in position to jump into tournaments the moment they launch.
If you're already logged in, check your coin balance and take a spin on the wheel if you haven't today it's a habit that costs nothing and adds up over time.
And if you're someone who's been playing anonymously this whole time, no pressure to change that. The games aren't going anywhere, login or not. But there's clearly more being built on top of them, and the zombie survival game alone is worth keeping an eye on this page for.
We'll keep posting updates as development moves forward, including a closer look at the zombie game once we have more to show, and full details on tournaments as soon as the structure is locked in.
